My sister was diagnosed with IPF in 2006. She received her new lungs in April of 2007. Her husband had passed away so I was her caregiver. She did not wake up until 7 days after her surgery. She has had several setbacks and rejection. She had to go on Peritoneal dialysis in June of 2010. She is doing well at this time.
I started with a cough in March of 2008. I went to the doctor and after several tests was diagnosis with IPF also. I could not believe it. I had a biopsy in October 2008 and had to go on oxygen. I began to get worse very quickly. I was put on the transplant list in April 2009 and got my new lungs on March 9, 2009. I have done very well. I have not had any rejection so far. I give all the glory to God who has gotten me to where I am now.
